Job Title: Head Coach and Youth Programs Coordinator (Part-Time)


Position Overview:

Climb Cincy is looking for a motivated and passionate individual to lead and expand your youth climbing team and youth programs, including summer camps and climbing clubs. Prior coaching, youth programming, or competition climbing experience is preferred.
This is a part time position with full time hours possible in combination with other positions at Climb Cincy. Head Coach and Youth Programs Coordinator hours vary between 8 and 15 hours each week. Potential to travel and attend USAC Youth Competitions on weekends during the competitive climbing season.

Head Coach Responsibilities:

  • Hire, Schedule, and Train Coaching Staff

  • Develop and implement age and ability appropriate training programs

  • Communicate with team parents and facility management

  • Stay up to date on USAC events, rules, and rankings

Youth Programs Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Hire, Schedule, and Train Youth Programs Staff

  • Facilitate our youth climbing club on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

  • Facilitate our week long summer camps in June and July

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Self-motivating, energetic, team player with a strong understanding of positive behavior management and group facilitation skills with evidence of direct work with youth

  • Experience coaching youth sports to youth athletes across a range of ages and abilities

  • Strong personal knowledge and experience of rock climbing, including bouldering, top-rope, and sport lead. With the ability to pass a top-rope test and sport lead test

  • Ability to meet certification requirements needed to work with youth based on industry + government requirements, which may include USA-Climbing Membership, and First Aid/CPR requirements

 Availability:

The head coach must be available to coach during team practice, currently Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30. The head coach must be available to help cover youth programs if other staff are not available.
